Winning Is Everything: Vegas Restaurant Recommendations
For our friends at Winning is Everything this week, here are a few of our team’s Vegas restaurant recommendations in and around Mandalay Bay, as well as a few of our favorites that are within a 30 minute walk.
Casual & Affordable
Kumi (Mandalay Bay) - The cocktails at Kumi are really unique and the sushi is spectacular! The bar area has comfy seating overlooking the goings-on at Mandalay Bay, so it is the perfect place to unwind after great day at the conference.
Lemongrass (Aria) - If you like Thai food this is the place. Our team has eaten here during every Vegas trip over the past 3 years. A party of 4 can easily split our favorite dishes: Singapore Noodles, Yellow Curry Chicken and Pork Fried Rice. Take the free Tram from Mandalay Bay or a 30 minute walk to Aria.
Todd English P.U.B. (at the Shops at Crystals) - Team Accountingfly has been known to slip away here after a long day of handing out SWAG. There are hundreds of craft beers on tap and we love the P.U.B. Burgers and Junk Chips. Free Tram ride to Aria will get you there.
Secret Pizza (The Cosmopolitan) - The name says it all. You won't find any info about Secret Pizza on The Cosmopolitan's website because, well... it's a secret (but trust us, it's affordable and really good!) The Accountingfly team checks in here when in Vegas because we want to make sure our CPAs are happy we aren’t blowing the budget on food while on the road. The Tram should get you close to Cosmopolitan.
Hecho En Vegas (MGM): Authentic Mexican cuisine and fresh margaritas served up in a relaxed cantina atmosphere. The tamales and tacos are awesome, and the open patio is a great place for people watching.
Michael Mina Pub 1842 (MGM) - Really great pub food, and some new twists on traditional pub fare. If you are feeling super adventurous try the Peanut Butter Crunch Burger with peanut butter, bacon jam and potato chips (seriously, it’s quite interesting)! They have a great beer selection - this is where I discovered one of my favorite’s - Innis & Gunn.
Burger Bar ( Mandalay Place) - One of the best beer selections on the Las Vegas strip and burgers under $10.
Aureole (Mandalay Bay) - This is the perfect place for a celebration - in fact, Judy Schryver, our Director of Market Strategy, celebrated her 20th wedding anniversary here! Wonderful seasonal cuisine by renowned chef Charlie Palmer is served in a fine-dining atmosphere, making for an unforgettable meal. Not to mention the four-story wine tower with its very own Wine Angel Stewards, who gracefully ascend the tower to retrieve bottles.
STK (The Cosmopolitan): Once you’ve experienced the 20 oz bone-in ribeye, your life will be forever changed. It is the kind of meal that makes you reminisce (and salivate) for years to come. Opt to have your steak topped with one of the amazing accoutrements - like foie gras, truffle butter or bearnaise sauce, or just enjoy it as is - cooked and seasoned perfectly. Add a side of parmesan truffle fries and you are good to go. Not to mention the creative cocktails and cozy club-like atmosphere. If you are craving a great steak, you shouldn’t miss STK.
